Since 1994 the Brian Pastor Big band has been pleasing jazz enthusiasts throughout the Delaware Valley. The band continues to feature the finest in contemporary big band sounds created by the world's top composers and arrangers many of whom are living in the greater Philadelphia area.
Brian has been the area's premier jazz trombonist, and when he envisioned forming a band dedicated to playing contemporary big band jazz the seats in the band were quickly filled with musicians who clearly shared that vision. The bands first engagement turned into an eighteen-month stay at the 23rd Street Cafe in Philadelphia. The band then moved across town for another eighteen-month stay at the Blue Moon Jazz Club, in the shadow of Independence Hall. From there the band traveled across the river to the Cherry Hill Hilton where they pleased the jazz palette of Jersey big band fans. The band is now a fixture at the Casino Deli in northeast Philadelphia where, for more than three years, enthusiastic audiences have been served up a twice a month super-size helping of big band jazz.
The Casino Deli is conveniently located at 2425 Welsh Road in Northeast Philadelphia, just three blocks east of the Roosevelt Boulevard. The combination of the seventeen-piece Brian Pastor Big Band and great deli style food guarantees an outstanding evening. The band is in residence two Tuesday nights a month with sets starting at 8:00 PM. A modest cover charge of $5.00 gets you a million dollar evening of high-energy music.
